The Pledge
As Secretary of State of Minnesota, I pledge to:
Refuse any attempt by the federal government to seize or otherwise unconstitutionally audit our voter rolls
Protect trans voters in Minnesota by opposing voter identification requirements such as the SAVE Act, which will disproportionately affect transgender citizens

As Secretary of State, my mission is to protect the freedom to vote for every eligible Minnesotan. I have spent my career helping to build an election system that is fair, accurate, honest, and secure. Three years ago, my office worked with the Legislature to restore the vote to 55,000 formerly incarcerated people, implement automatic voter registration, and allow 16- and 17-year-olds to pre-register to vote. We've taken enormous strides since I was elected in 2014, but we still have work to do and progress to defend.
Communities in Minnesota are under attack, especially our transgender neighbors. Relentless pressure from the Trump Administration has forced many states to roll back protections. That's wrong. When then-Attorney General Pam Bondi demanded the most sensitive and personal data on millions of Minnesota's registered voters in the summer of 2025, Irefused. It's my responsibility to protect your private information. Ialso fought against exclusionary proposals like the SAVE Act and have spent years opposing punitive voter ID requirements at the polls, which would disproportionately harm transgender people, women, and rural communities.
You have my commitment as your Secretary of State that Iwil continue to:

• And protect trans voters in Minnesota by opposing punitive voter identification requirements such as the SAVE Act.
Eligible transgender voters in Minnesota deserve the same rights as everyone else. They deserve the freedom to cast a ballot as who they are. I look forward to working alongside you in 2026 and beyond to defend and strengthen our democracy.
